Training and Lessons
WITH MEGAN WRIGHT
I always strive to take a holistic approach to training and working with horses. I have spent many years learning how best to teach horses and riders in a methodical approach. I feel you must make a positive and relaxed environment for learning to take place. I believe in 'partners before performance', always working on your relationship with your horse before you can expect it to perform for you. I have spent many years learning biomechanics of the horse and rider to help improve balance, communication and performance. In my early twenties, I started on my horsemanship journey learning how to implement natural horsemanship into my everyday training program and in the year 2000, I graduated top of my class from the BC College of Equine Therapy learning body work, energy, homeopathy, Herbology, saddle fit and rider biomechanics. At age fifteen, I met my long-term coach and mentor Kristian Von Setton who opened my eyes to classical dressage and I have never looked back. This has encouraged me to seek out many different trainers around the world in many different disciplines but all who share a similar philosophy. After 30 years of running my own Equestrian center, I am now currently working for JMac Sportponies Training German Riding Ponies and Teaching lessons in Dressage, Eventing, and Horsemanship. I still volunteer for the local pony club, an organization I have been a part of since I was nine years old.
